Sterling Silver & Turquoise Inlay Necklace (1970s–1980s)
A beautifully handcrafted sterling silver necklace composed of articulated rectangular links, each individually set with a hand-cut turquoise inlay. The refined construction, fluid movement and precision of the inlay work reflect the artisanal silversmithing traditions of the Southwestern United States—most closely associated with Zuni and Navajo jewellers of the 1970s and 1980s.
Each turquoise panel has been shaped and set by hand, resulting in natural variations of colour and matrix that highlight the authenticity of the stones and the handmade nature of the piece. These slight tonal differences are characteristic of genuine mid-century turquoise inlay jewellery and distinguish the necklace from later machine-produced versions.
Crafted in sterling silver and marked 925 at the clasp, the necklace carries a pleasing weight and an elegant, understated presence on the neckline.
A sophisticated collector’s piece for those who appreciate artisanal craftsmanship, natural materials and the quiet luxury of vintage silver jewellery.
Good vintage condition.
Natural patina to the silver and gentle tonal variation in the turquoise inlay consistent with age and handmade construction.
