Parienne Tokyo Fox Fur Leather Jacket

ON Parienne Sculptural Wool, Leather & Fox Fur Coat — Made in Japan, c. Late 1980s to Early 1990s

A coat that feels more like a character. This sculptural design by ON Parienne, made in Japan during the golden era of Japanese luxury craftsmanship, is a striking interplay of texture, proportion, and tonal contrast.

Cut from soft brown wool patterned with tiger-like striations, the silhouette is bold and generous — a cocoon shape that envelops the body while still framing it. Glossy black leather panels, including a sweeping diagonal strap detail and lightly quilted shoulders, lend it an architectural edge. The wide fox fur collar and cuffs bring an added layer of softness and cinematic glamour.

Dated to the late 1980s to early 1990s, this piece hails from a moment when Japanese labels like Comme des Garçons, Issey Miyake, and lesser-known ateliers such as ON Parienne (Tokyo An Co., Ltd.) were producing runway-level garments with quiet cult appeal — often sold in exclusive department stores or exported in very limited runs.

A rare survivor of that era’s experimental luxury — wearable, statement-making, and undeniably collectible.
