Antique 18ct Gold & Platinum Sapphire and Diamond Bar Brooch, c.1920s
An elegant antique 18ct gold and platinum sapphire and diamond bar brooch, dating to the 1920s, beautifully crafted in the refined style of the late Edwardian and early Art Deco period.
The brooch features a rich royal blue round-cut sapphire at its centre, surrounded by a delicate floral cluster of old-cut diamonds in a finely millegrain-set platinum mount. The gemstone cluster is mounted on a slender polished 18-carat yellow gold bar, creating a timeless and understated design that remains effortlessly wearable today.
The reverse is stamped “18CT & PLAT”, confirming the traditional combination of an 18-carat gold mount with a platinum gemstone setting, a hallmark of fine British jewellery from the early twentieth century.
Note:
Bar brooches of this quality have become increasingly sought after for their versatility and elegant proportions. Equally suitable for wear on a jacket lapel, dress, scarf or knitwear, this is a classic example of fine early twentieth-century jewellery, combining understated sophistication with exceptional craftsmanship.
A beautifully balanced and highly wearable antique brooch, representing the enduring elegance of British jewellery from the interwar years.
