House of Regamus Gown -Rare Find

Vintage Regamus powder blue taffeta ballgown with 3 layer underskirt & separate velvet floral belt & shawl

This turquoise off the shoulder "Deb Gown" dress was designed by the House of Regamus.  This dress is an a close replica of the Regamus dress worn by Princess Diana at the 1979 Ball at Althorp House.

Regamus Haute Couture

The Regamus label became a favourite of the Sloane Ranger set in the mid to late 1970’s and 1980’s. The label’s most famous customer was Lady Diana Spencer, later HRH the Princess of Wales. Diana’s first known purchase was an evening gown, bought for her debutante ball at Althorp in 1979. This gown was later donated to Madame Tussauds for Diana’s wax model but from 2017-19 it formed part of an exhibition Diana: Her Fashion Story at Kensington Palace. The Regamus dress was the oldest item of clothing in the exhibition.Diana and her mother are thought to have found this dress in the “French Room”, Harrods’
